Temple Square

Saturday we went down to Salt Lake and met Bryan, Megan, Boston, and Trey for some shopping at City Creek Center. When it got dark out we walked across the street to Temple Square. I have always loved the lights at the Salt Lake Temple at Christmastime! It is such a beautiful sight and make me feel very happy inside. It is simple pleasures like this that brighten the holiday season. We watched the live nativity story which is always beautiful. It was a little chilly out but we made sure to bundle Easton really well and he ended up falling asleep he was so bundled and cozy. We went to Cafe Rio after and had a yummy burrito. Easton enjoyed the delicious tortilla! We had a fun little trip down to SLC. Tis the Season!

Easton's First Christmas 2013

We celebrated Easton's first Christmas this year at Grandma and Grandpa Gillies's house. We woke up at about 8:15 am and started opening presents at about 8:30. Easton was a little confused at all the excitement and commotion around him but we could tell he was a little happy about his presents. He especially liked the peach yogurt bites in his stocking! Santa brought Easton a Scout my pal puppy that sings songs about Easton's favorite animal, color, and food and it sings bedtime songs and plays little games with him. It is really super cute! He really likes watching the name tag on his collar light up! Easton got a stocking full of fun this year; he got peach yogurt bites, cheddar baby puffs, some on the go baby foods, a first year christmas ornament (Daddy picked it out- it is a deer with a hat that says born to hunt.... i'm rolling my eyes), he also got a first Christmas book called "Itsy Bitsy Christmas" by Max Lucado... i love this author its so cute! From mommy and daddy he got a Little Tikes tool bench that lights up and sings and a Little Tikes dirt digger loader. From Grandma and Grandpa he got a musical table thing that teaches shapes, letters, and colors and it rocks out as well. Easton really enjoyed ripping the paper off the gifts the most! I think he had a very good first Christmas. Mark got me two pairs of boots- some pointy toe (might I add super sexy) cowboy boots and some black tall riding boots. He also got me a pair of LA Idol jeans which I love- I was spoiled! I surprised Mark with a Ice Fishing Shelter and he loved it! After presents the whole family sat down for a yummy prime rib dinner as tradition! We had a very good Christmas! It came and went so fast this year but I am always grateful for the opportunity we have to be with family and celebrate the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. I am truly grateful for the life and family I have and the gospel in my life. I am not sure where I would be without it and I don't want to find out. We wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Love The Gillies Family

Christmas Break at Grandma Bullinger's

We've been at Grandma and Grandpa Bullinger's house this last week before we take off for Lyman tomorrow. We have really enjoyed being here with family. When we got here we went to watch Bethany cheer at the basketball games. The next day mom and I and Easton went to Cody for a little last minute shopping and dinner. Jacob went up to see his girlfriend Kelsey and met us for dinner at Sunset House. I ran into my math teacher Mrs. Tracey (Butler now) and got to have a good chat with her. We went to Walmart after and I saw Cammy Whitlock who is about to have a baby and we got to talk for a little bit. It was a good trip- saw some old friends and finished my Christmas shopping! The next night mom, Easton, and I went up to the Elementary School Christmas Program. Bethany had to play her clarinet for part of it and my mom thought she told her it started at 7:00pm. We showed up just a little late but turns out we were a whole 45 min late because it actually started at 6:30pm. Turns out we missed Bethany performing and only had to sit through half of the program... that was a treat ;) After the program we stopped at Grandma's on the way home and Easton got to see his great Grandma. He was a goofball for her of course and laughed and squeeled the whole time. Charlene and the kiddos came over on Friday so we got to see them and Easton got to play with his cousins. They will come back today for dinner so that will be fun. Yesterday we made some treats to take to a few families in the community and mom's primary kids. We have had a great trip to grandma and grandpa's!
