Easter 2016 {some fun and reflection}

It is so fun to have family near to do holiday things with. We set up a little egg hunt from Easton and Madyn in our home on Easter Eve and they had so much fun! Graysen even loved the eggs :) It was like heaven for them finding all these eggs they were very excited as is displayed in the following pictures ;)
THE GOLDEN EGG!!! OH BOY OH BOY! (too bad it was just a regular old piece of candy haha)
HAHA that face!!!
Dying the eggs was a fun event... Kylie boiled a dozen and I did 10... Easton and Mads lost interest after about three eggs each haha!
The boys and their Easter goodies from the Easter bunny - and Grandmas and Papas
From Grandma & Papa Gillies
From Grandma & Papa Bullinger.... My mom went to Washington D.C. with my sister for her senior trip so she got the boys hats from the National Zoo, a stuffed elephant for Graysen, a lightup pen and bear for Easton. So fun to have these souvenirs!
G Baby loved his books and the teething necklace for mom to wear... he has already gotten good slobbers out of it ;)
It is wonderful to see the excitement Easter brings into our home... from the candy and the small gifts to the joy of the Savior. Easton is starting to understand the true meaning of Easter and I can see that in coming years it will be so fun to start some more spiritual traditions with him as he will begin to understand even more. It was so sweet as I sat him down on my lap one night before Easter I told him a very simplified version of the Easter story and he seemed thrilled that Jesus was risen. He repeated after me "Jesus is Risen!" with excitement. I love teaching him smal truths to build his firm testimony of the gospel. Every day he picks up on more little things and it just makes me smile! While the egg hunting was fun it is wonderful to see this side of Easter take place in our home even if it is simplified for our toddler. I am so grateful for the sacrifice the Savior made for me... that he suffered for my sins in Gethsemane, died for all of his children, and rose again from the tomb. "He is not here for he is risen as he said" Matthew 28:6.
I believe we are extremely lucky Heavenly Father loved all his children to send his only Begotten Son to be the savior of the world. I'm not sure I can ever fully express the gratitude I have for the Savior and his infinite atonement and sacrifice for me. Because he LIVES I can feel relief from all of the pains, sins, and sorrows of this life. Because he LIVES I and able to have a little family and feel so much joy in my life. Beceause he LIVES I can return to the presence of my Heavenly Father someday and feel everlasting and eternal joy. I am blessed by his comfort and peace day to day and I love him with all my heart! Happy Easter everyone... may you also find peace and comfort this Easter season.
