Happy 5 Years to my Sweetheart!

Today 5 years ago at approximately 9:30 am Mark and I were sealed for Time & All Eternity in the Billings Montana Temple. Today marks 5 spectacular years with the most amazing husband, best friend, companion, father, and person I've ever been blessed to know! I am so happy we chose each other to share this amazing adventure and journey with. In the last 5 years we have been through a lot together. Two bachelor degrees at the University of Wyoming, one amazing little boy who changed our whole world, one devastating loss that also changed out whole world, finding out we are pregnant aging with baby #2, finding out baby #2 is healthy, lots of happiness, lots of tears, and one year through a Masters degree. I feel so lucky to be able to build a life and family with such a wonderful man... I fall more in love with you each and everyday and you make my life worthwhile! Thanks for all you do for East and I (+ the baby to come) and for all the hard work and dedication you put into taking care of our family. I couldn't ask for anyone better to share my life with. I love you Mark with every bit of my heart! Here's to half a decade and many more to come... Happy Anniversary! For our anniversary my sister watched Easton and we go to go to dinner at the Library and enjoy a nice sunset walk downtown with a final stop at the Big Dipper ice cream parlor! Yum! Thanks for a great date babe you're the best!
Five years ago I stood in front of a full length mirror at a bridal shop in American Fork, UT. The moment I found the perfect dress was such an amazing moment but there was more to that moment than "the perfect dress" it was finding that one piece to the puzzle that got me that much closer to one of the most important and wonderful days of my life.
The day we were sealed together for Time & All Eternity I remember sitting next to my very soon to be husband thinking "I am so in love with this boy right here beside me and I don't know if there is any possible way for me to love him anymore or for things to get any better than they are in this moment right here" Boy was I wrong... after 5 years of marriage to the most amazing person I know I can honestly say my love for him has grown deeper with each and every passing day and our life together now is just as blissful if not more than that day I sat next to him in that beautiful room covered in white squeezing his hand until it was purple!

Easton's 2nd Birthday Party

Today we celebrated a very special little 2 year old! Easton turned 2 a few days ago and its time to party! We did a Cars theme of course since it is his favorite and he had all his little friend come to play. He got very spoiled with lots of fun new toys that I have no idea where we are going to put but it looks like Mr. East has a pretty good 2nd Birthday! We love you little man!

Easton is 2!

Two years ago today at 11:19 pm after a hard 25+ hours of labor a beautiful baby entered this world and snuggled right into our hearts. I remember it as vividly today as the day he was born…. All squishy, purple, and covered in white gunk… a whopping 7 lbs 21 inches long all ten toes and all ten fingers as perfect today as they were on that day. I remember when the doctor laid him on my chest for the very first time as tears welled up in my eyes thinking how amazing this little being was and how in love with him I instantly felt… he had arrived in such perfect condition and he was absolutely better than I could have ever imagined… Now two years later I still love this little goober with all my heart and being his mom is the most wonderful thing that could have ever happened to me.
Easton is two and I can’t believe how quickly he has grown into a little boy. No longer is my little boy a baby… he is full blown toddler all wrapped up in a wonderful little energetic package including all those marvelous toddler behaviors that we love! He is growing tall and skinny at 35 inches tall and 25 ½ lbs… his pediatrician said he is trending like his daddy which makes me happy to know he isn’t going to be short like mommy! He is only in the 23rd percentile for weight but the 75% for height however this little guy is a tank! It is because he has more muscle than anything else.. he runs like an antelope, climbs like a mountain goat and has ripped little calves unlike any other two year old I’ve ever seen! He definitely keeps us going!
Easton is such a smart little boy! He can say lots of words now including; car (his favorite and most used), ball, go go go, milk, cheese, juice (which he uses for water too), more, all done, thank you, please, shoes, blue, purple, yellow, pink, fish, pup, cow, elk, moose, deer (deers), pop (for jump), papa, mom, dad, baby (in sight of his sibling arriving in October), sis, shirt, pants, clo clo (his cousin Chloe’s name), paint, bubbles, cup, bath, ta-da!, “it’s a elk”, “I got this”, and a few other random words. He can make lots of animal sounds including, horse, duck, puppy, elk, monkey, cow, pig, bird, and snake. He knows all the actions for itsy bisty spider, ring around the rosie, patty cake, five little monkeys, and wheels on the bus. He still loves to read books still and likes to point out pictures in the books. I catch him looking at books by himself and it makes me really proud! He will ask himself questions about the pictures and answer them for example “whats that?” and then he will either make the animal sound or say the animal name. It is the cutest thing ever!
Easton likes to play with playdough, color, and paint…he is an artistic little guy but his favorite thing to do is play with his cars. He has about a million cars by now and he has to have them all out at once and line them up together. I love watching the little boy come out in him! Easton loves to watch movies! He used to stick to Cars ONLY… that movie got very old very quick in our house! But not he watches Cars, Cars 2, Brother Bear, Open Season, Hurcules (has become a favorite), Big Hero 6, Tarzan, Barney Goes to the Farm (I think he likes all the animals, and Elk hunting videos. His favorite cartoons are still Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. But he will watch Doc Mcstuffins and Curious George. I also have seen him take a liking to Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Super WHY!, although his attention span doesn’t last nearly as long with those cartoons.
Easton is an outdoor boy just like his daddy… he loves to go to the park sometimes more than once daily. He enjoys going down the slide at least two dozen times each time we visit and likes to swing- the higher the better! He loves when we do underdogs and we enjoy hearing his little giggle when he comes swinging down! Easton would live in the mountains if we let him… he likes to climb big hills and rocks and run to his hearts desire! It is always a screaming fight when we leave the mountains. Something that is really funny that he does if we go past any mountain like structure such as driving up the summit to Cheyenne; he starts Elk bugling and searching for deer, moose, and elk. It is like he knows we are in the mountains and he is sure he will see some of those beloved big game of his!
Easton is a champ at going to nursery and plays really well with all the other kids. He loves to play with his cousin Madyn and most of the time he ends up teasing her and taking her baby doll but I guess that means he loves her! He now sleeps in a toddler bed and loves it. It took about two or three nights and he was sleeping in there for good. Of course we still have nights with bad dreams but that goes along with his growing imagination. He thinks he is pretty cool in his toddler bed! Easton is going to begin Speech this summer and OT for his picky eating. We took him to an evaluation with the developmental preschool and he qualifies for free services based on his test scores. He will also be evaluated at the speech and hearing clinic at UW this coming month. I think he will do really well and his language will really start to pick up and develop.
Easton used to be a pretty good eater but lately he has released a full-blown picky toddler and won’t eat hardly anything. He enjoys pretty consistently; chicken nuggets, mac n’ cheese, string cheese, strawberries, yogurt, crackers (he loves cheese Ritz bits and so does his daddy!), pancakes, and any form of bread for the most part. He is our little carb-loader! Easton LOVES to take a bath and the more bath toys he has to float around with the better! Sometimes I feel like there isn’t much room left for him in the bath. He is a little weirdo and likes to eat the bubble in the bath and for that matter he pops bubbles that we blow with his mouth…. Toddlers are very unpredictable… if I heard myself say “Easton don’t eat the bubbles” a few years ago I would have thought I was crazy but it is amazing the things you say as a parent!
WE sure love our outgoing little bundle of energy… we are always trying to keep up with him! WE enjoy being his parents and watching him learn new things and grow each day! WE wouldn’t trade him for anything in this world… he brightens each and everyday in our home and brings so much happiness and love into our lives. We love you Easton boy and hope you have the happiest of 2! What a difference a year makes!
