Geocaching and "Homemade Heaven"
It was a beautiful Sunday so tonight we took Easton for a walk and on his first Geocaching trip around town. We found three caches tonight. This is something that Mark and I love to do and if you haven't ever tried it you really should. It is a nice little activity you can do as a family. We are excited to share this with Easton.
I also tried a new bread recipe tonight! Growing up my favorite thing was homemade bread- it became a favorite as we would come home from school and get off the bus at my Grandma's house. As you opened her front door and piled in an aroma of fresh, warm, sweet homemade bread would surge through you nostrils and automatically make you begin to salivate! Of course she always gave us a slice with salty butter and sweet homemade jam! My mom used to make bread for us too and I always loved loved having homemade bread for toast or sandwiches. There is something about it that just completes everything.. its like a slice of "homemade heaven". I always wanted to be that mom that made homemade bread for my kids. Tonight I found a delicious Honey-Oat Bread that is to die for! Mark and Easton went crazy for it. It is so good and so easy. Here is a link to the recipe and a picture to get you salivating ;)

Easton Lately
I wanted to post these pictures of Easton but didn't really have enough to say about each one just that they are "firsts" kind of things.
First pair of big boy (two piece) jammies- March 27th. Doesn't he look like such a grow up little guy. Makes me sad to not put him in little "feeties" every night… he is growing up too fast!
I just love my little boy! For a lot of reasons but lately I have fallen in love with the way he plays like a boy. Yes, of course he is rough and run run run but he is really cute when he plays with trucks, tractors, and cars. I guess I figured all boys just play with cars and trucks like that- pushing them across the floor while crawling on their knees. But, I have seen this kind of play develop over the past couple of weeks. He is so cute when he plays with his trucks! He sometimes hammers on them with his plastic hammer like he is fixing them :) Today I caught him playing with both of his John Deer tractors- Grandpa Bullinger would be so proud!
For breakfast this morning (March 28th) I made Easton waffles. I have always made Easton pancakes or french toast but he hasn't really ever eaten waffles and this morning he had half a waffle with blueberry syrup! He loved it and was a sticky little mess afterwards but thats what having a kid tends to be like ;)

Parent-Child Swim Lessons
We enrolled Easton in Parent-Child Swim Lessons and he loves the water! So far we have learned to blow bubbles (although Easton just drinks the water), float on his back/tummy in the lazy river, jump off the wall into mommy's arms in the water (Easton thinks it is hilarious to watch the other kids and jump whenever he pleases- sometimes on 1 sometimes on 2 but never on 3), go down the slide, and play games/sing songs in the water. It really is a lot of fun! He is already getting so used to the water and gets excited when we tell him we are going swimming, put his suit on, and walk into the pool! We have to restrain him before class starts so that he doesn't crawl into the pool! We get to hang out with a few of our friends too. It is a good time.. we might do session 4 as well he loves it so much! I am glad he likes the water so much… I love going to the pool so it is going to be a fun summer!

The Park is GOOD for Eating Grass
I took Easton to the park to play for the first time yesterday because the weather was so nice. I put him down on the grass and the first thing he did was pick a handful of dead grass and shove it into his mouth! As if that wasn't enough he though hmmm this is too much work to pick it first and dove face first into the grass to gulp it down like a little horse! It was pretty comical but also made me cringe! We went over to the playground and he found that the wood chips and pinecones tasted pretty good too- guess this is what we have to look forward to this summer. We definitely have a little boy on our hands! But we sure love him and I guess all kids eat dirt at some point or another right?

We're Going to the Zoo Zoo Zoo! How about you?
For spring break we took a little day trip to Denver and visited the zoo and did a little shopping. It was a beautiful day with sunshine and 70 degree weather! We had so much fun at the zoo and Easton loved all the animals. He growled at the animals it was pretty hilarious! He really liked the turtles and would follow them with his hands up the glass. He wanted to tackle or sit on the birds running around the zoo grounds. We love the zoo! After we finished at the zoo we went and ate at Burger Works by Red Robin- it is like fast food Red Robin- but not fast food… real Red Robin burgers! It was solo delicious and Easton liked the steak fries! Then we went and checked out the Bass Pro across the street for Mark of course and stopped by Target and the Outlets in Loveland on the way home. It was a fun mini vacation to Denver.
