Salt Lake City Half Marathon 2017

Pre- Race Photos with the people that shuttle me to the races every time I run... Barb and I... Megan's mom and her neighbors as well as their daughter and a few of their family friends at the starting line.
Today I ran my 5th half marathon in Salt Lake City, Utah, this was my second time doing their half marathon. After training hard for 5 1/2 months I finished the half and felt great about that. Results: Overall- 364/2695 Female- 111/1,538 Female ages 25-29- 26/242 I crossed the starting line around 7:07 am and crossed the finish line at 8:55 am. My official chip time was 1:47:53 and my average chip time was 8:15 min/mile. I was really nervous about keeping up a good enough pace because my goal was to finish in under two hours. I finished just under that mark and couldn't have been more excited about this accomplishments two kids later! I had the best fans near the finish line!
On the way home we stopped in Lyman at Mark's parents and let the kids play for the afternoon before heading back to Baggs. Grandma and Grandpa just got a new swing set--- it was pretty much a hit!
It was overall a great race... it's really too bad my body took a beating after... I spent the rest of the day sicker than sick. I am pretty sure I pushed it a little too hard and dehydrated myself. But you know me--- competitive... that won't stop me for going back for more. Until next time..

Mom & Tots {April Showers bring May Flowers

We made tissue paper flowers today at Mom & Tots. Easton got to go and make one with his class too. They talked about some flowers they had planted and told the children how flowers grow (with sun and rain). Love our higher education center!

Happy Easter {From the Gillies Family}

These boys with their Easter Baskets from what Easton calls the "best Easter Bunny EVER!" 🐰
The boys looked so cute all dressed up for church!
This afternoon we had an Easter Egg Hunt with all my extended family at Great Grandma Bullinger's house. It's fun to take my boys to this because it's all of my little little cousins... the ones that were babies when I was the one hiding the eggs 😉 brings back some fun memories of egg hunts with all my cousins. The boys had fun and great Grandma makes it awesome with fun prizes. We had a happy Easter 🐣 hope you did too and that you got a chance to really celebrate and contemplate the true reason for this season. I know we did and I'm truly grateful for my Savior and that he LIVES and is RISEN.
My favorite quote about Easter is from President Dieter F. Uchtdorf- “On Easter Sunday we celebrate the most long-awaited and glorious event in the history of the world. It is the day that changed everything. On that day, my life changed. Your life changed. The destiny of all God’s children changed. When I think of what the Savior did for us leading up to that first Easter Sunday, I want to lift up my voice and shout praises to the Most High God and His Son, Jesus Christ! The gates of heaven are unloced! The windows of heaven are opened! Today and forevermore, God’s grace is available to all.”

Hippity Hoppity {Easter 2017}

I so much enjoy holidays with these two handsome boys of ours and I love taking fun pictures of them even if they don't always turn out perfect or these little stinkers don't cooperate like I thought they would ;) We had fun taking these lovable springy Easter pictures the other day and I wanted to share the cuteness! Enjoy <3
