Moosin' Around

Today we took a little hike up to Eric's (my brother in law) game camera in the snowy mountains. On our lovely hike we saw this beautiful creature. This moose has been hanging around Eric's camera a lot lately as there were about a hundred pictures of him on there. We ran into him on our way into the clearing and he stuck around the whole time we were there. It was a lot of fun to see. I'm not sure Easton saw it but if he did he was sure making a lot of noise! Mark says he isn't coming hunting for a while ;)

14 months old!

Where does the time go? I seriously cannot believe Easton is 14 months old already… I know it is a little cliche but I feel like it was just yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital..it is a little sad but very exciting how big and grown up he is getting! I swear Easton thinks he is a big kid though as he proceeds to try doing things all the big kids are doing like walking off the front steps or trying to climb high things. Easton is a curious little fellow and gets into everything in sight. I try to "keep calm my baby is learning" a lot of the time and if it weren't for this thinking I would have multiple freak outs due to the tornado that passes through our home daily! I do love his sense of wonderment! Easton loves to play outside at the park and in the dirt. He loves sticks so much and will walk with one until he happens upon another and switches it out. Last sunday at church he tried to steal an elderly man's cane and was rather distraught after learning he needed that to walk. The man was very nice about it though and I couldn't help but laugh!
Easton also loves playing anything cars or trucks. We go to garage sales about every weekend and you better believe it if we don't leave with a car every time! This last weekend he found a lightning McQueen about the size of him and refused to leave without it. Needless to say lightning is the newest addition to his toy family and he tried to take him to church yesterday- that is how much he loves that car! Easton still loves looking at books and we go to book babies at the public library once a week which he just loves. We like to check out different books from the library and if mommy forgets he is sure to throw a tantrum to remind me. I love that he already loves books and tries to read them. It is the cutest thing.. he sits with a book and blabbers something cute as he flips through the pages.
Easton is quite the social butterfly and we never go anywhere that he doesn't catch multiple people's attention with his cute smile or adorable blabbers. He is friends with nearly everyone which is such a great quality about him! Everyone always comments that he is quite the talker and we always smile because it is true he never stops talking about something. I can't wait till he can say more words so we can know what he is saying.
He still only says "mamma" and "dada" although I tried to teach him "papa" and "gramma" this week and he can say "mi ma" which I think is close enough to "gramma". He likes to tease his daddy and say "mama" whenever he tries to get hime to say "dada". It is kind of funny although I am sure Mark doesn't think so. Easton has figured out the way to mommy's heart as every cute little boy does at some point or another. If he is ever in a bit of trouble he has started saying "mom" "mom", when I look he blows billions of kisses at me… needless to say he isn't in trouble anymore ;) Easton likes to get his boogie on- whenever we say "dance, dance, dance" he shuffles his feet and shakes his bottom it is the most adorable thing ever. If he is watching tv and music comes on he dances too… I love his sense of excitement when it comes to things like this.
Easton is becoming very independent and wants to do more and more by himself. Sometimes we get impatient with his independence but realize this is how he learns… I know I could do it 10 x faster but I have to release the reigns on somethings. He still relays on us for a lot which we love and don't mind. He likes to feed himself most everything now but will still let me feed him yogurt or oatmeal which his just fine because that is the last thing my house needs is another huge icky sticky mess ;) He likes to eat with utensils now but needs a little aid in poking his food with a fork. He likes to eat most anything but lately has gotten a lot more picky. He used to eat anything and everything but is now turning into a selective eater. I can always count on him to eat bread, yogurt, cheese, chips, berries, pancakes, and his baby treats and applesauce. He does like pizza too and can eat two whole slices! Somedays I wonder where he puts it and somedays I wonder if he ate enough. This month Easton got his top 1 year old molars totaling 10 teeth in all! He is such a silly little guy and surprises us each day with the new things he does such as clicking his tongue, stop dropping and rolling around, and blowing spit bubbles for the fun of it. He is a little goober thats for sure!
Easton definitely keeps us on our toes and running around. We love him with all our hearts and look forward to the months to come. We sure love our little cracker and his big as the world personality. He is so much fun to have around and we are so happy he is a part of our family.

Utah Trip 2014

Mark had a week long break from Grad school so we decided to head down to Lehi, Ut and spend some time with his brother and our sister in law. Mark and Bryan had plans to do a two day 3D archery shoot up at Snowbird resort in friday and saturday but other than that we just had a lot of fun in the sun, did some shopping, celebrated my birthday, visited my great anent and uncle, and saw some of our good friends that moved from Laramie to Alpine. We took the kids to Thanksgiving Point on Saturday and visited the museum of curiosity which was really fun! It is a cute museum with all sorts of elements for the kids to explore including a cargo net course high above everyone, a little city named kidopolis, a water world with a cute little water table for the babies, and lots of other things to make kids curious. We had a good time and took the kids to the splash pad after. I didn't get any pictures of this because it is a little pool with a huge noah's ark in the middle that spouts water out and Easton was definitely all over the place but it was a fun day. Easton loved playing with his cousins and we had a very good vacation!
