Thanksgiving 2015

This year we counted our blessing in Lyman with Mark's family. We enjoyed a beautiful turkey dinner and time with family. We really enjoy getting together with our family and watching all the little cousins play. I am so grateful for my little family this year! My boys bring such joy into my life. I am such a lucky momma to have two handsome little boys and a wonderful husband to hold my hand in this beautiful life. Being a stay at home mommy isn't the easiest job; it is a 24 hour/7 days a week sacrifice for tiny humans who without you couldn't survive. But there is nothing else that gives me more enjoyment and sense of accomplishment (even if my biggest accomplishment each day is the three of us dressed ;)) I count my blessing each and every day for these little blessings and the opportunity that I have to be entrusted by our Heavenly Father to parent and love his children. I couldn't be more grateful for this amazing little life I have been given. One of the greatest blessings we have is our family. They bring such joy, love, and support into our lives. We would be lost without them and their solid rock. I am thankful for all that my families have done for us over all the years of our lives! WE are truly blessed for all of the things, people, and opportunities we have in our lives. I love this time of year... it definitely puts into perspective all that I have been given!

Graysen {Post Surgery Update}

Little update: sorry I've left some people out of the know we've been stressed/very tired the last few days and haven't really kept up with who we have told what. So ... Graysen tested positive for Rhinovirus prior to surgery so we are here fighting that as well. It is making his recovery process much slower than had he just had surgery. Day after surgery he is doing a little better. He had to be on O2 through the night but is was removed early this morning. Feeding didn't go super great through the night so they were thinking of maybe doing a feeding tube. We avoided that as today he has been eating wonderfully! They took him off IV fluids this afyernoon after he finished his last round of steroids for the swelling from surgery. We have had to suction his nose and mouth secretions all along with the powerful wall suction which is part of the criteria they want to move away from before we can take him home. It has to be 24hours without the wall suctioning. They just suctioned him at 4:30 so hopefully that can be our last. He is definitely on the mend and doing much better today. Praying we can continue eating well and not have to use the wall suction so we can take him home as early as Monday.

Graysen {Laryngomalacia}

Update on Graysen: Three weeks ago he was diagnosed with Laryngomalacia. It is an airway defect that causes spells of sianosis (turning blue and struggling to breathe) and makes breathing difficulties. Over the past week he has had increased reflux making the structures around his vocal cords increasingly floppy making it harder for him to breathe. We brought him down to the ER at Children's Hospital Colorado last night after another sianosis episode. ENT (who diagnosed him previously) did another scope and confirmed that things were not improving. He was admitted to the NICU around 11pm with plans to do a 9am surgery to clip the tissue which attatches the epiglaudis (the floppy structures) to the back of the vocal cords thus relieving his airway. We had a rough night but he went in for a Supraglottoplasty around 11:15 and came out of surgery around 12:30. He didn't have to be intebated as he came back up to the NICU however he was on oxygen to help him breathe which was soon released as he began to come out on his own. He is still struggling to come off the anesthesia. The procedure went as planned and the structures around his vocal cords are now allowing more oxygen flow. He needed a little warming up after surgery but temp is back tl normal now. About ten minutes ago they put him on 25cc of oxygen as his levels have dipped below normal range. He is doing fine on the oxygen though. He will have steroids through the next few days to decrease swelling and as soon as he wakes up he can nurse if he wants too although he will be sore. They will keep us here at the NICU for extensive monitoring as he recovers from the surgery.

Graysen {1 month}

This sweet baby boy turned 1 month old on Saturday.... how he is growing up so fast I don't know but I don't like it! We sure love having him in our family! Graysen loves to snuggle and is such a good little baby. He is a sweetie and brings such joy to our family. Him and his brother already have a very special bond. He has snuggled into all of our hearts for sure! He is 20 inches long and 8 lbs 1 oz. and is slowly but surely getting bigger! I already can't imagine our life without him in it! Love you baby boy!
