Trip to the farm & Welcome home

Mark started his first day of school at his new job as the k-12 school counselor on the 23rd but the boys and I missed it because we went up to my mom and dad’s on the 21st to be there when my brother flies in on a plane coming home from his mission. Easton should have been born a farm boy because he loves going out on the combine with his Papa! Whenever we take a trip to the farm he is by Papa’s side 24/7 if he can and wants to do everything he does. This particular trip he got to ride on the combine with Papa and cut the barley. He loves watching the grain fill up the back of the combine and watch it fill up the truck.
Later we were all set drawing posters and making Gumbo in preparation for Jake’s arrival home. We can’t contain our excitement we are just too too excited! Mom and I cut yellow ribbons to tie on the fence and the tree. There is a story and song that talks about tying a yellow ribbon on the old oak tree to welcome someone home and let them know they are loved and welcomed.
We headed up to the Cody airport at 5 pm for his 5:45 arrival. We were a bit early I know but we just couldn’t help but be excited. And then we waited! Easton and Chloe entertained the bunch by chasing each other around the airport, of course this resulted in the biggest skinned knee! Graysen crawled around with a sign that read “Elder Bullinger, I’ve been waiting my whole life to meet you!”. Finally his plane descended from the sky and they began letting passengers off the plane. It took a few minutes until we could spot him out the window but there he was handsome missionary dressed in his suit and tie! We were ecstatic and in tears as he walked through the doors! Everyone burst out in joy, mom hugged him first and then everyone else followed. Even Easton was excited to see him which was a nice change from when we picked up Tyson. We are so proud of our missionary and missed him dearly. It feels like a dream to have him home because a piece of our hearts was in Virginia for two years. After serving two honorable years in the VCM our Elder made his way back to WyHOMEing!
